Admissions
Rationale
We are an all-ability school and parents from a wide and varied catchment area are welcome to opt to send their child to the school.
Oversubscription Criteria
Currently the admission for any one year is set at a maximum of 108.
When applications for places exceed the number of places available then the criteria for admissions is as follows:
A: The child is in the care of the local authority.
B: There is a brother or sister at the school who will still be attending when the child is due to start.
C: The distance from home to school. Priority will be given to the child living nearest the school.
Appeals
There will be a right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel for applicants denied admission.
Where in any year the Thomas Middlecott Academy receives more applications for places than there are places available, a waiting list will operate until 31st December. This will be maintained by the Academy Trust and it will be open to any parent to ask for his or her child’s name to be placed on the waiting list, following an unsuccessful application.
