Rugby talent day inspires

Twelve Year 7 and 8 students from Thomas Middlecott Academy took part in DRET’s Rugby Talent Day at the Market Rasen Rugby Club in Lincolnshire.

The students received a two-hour masterclass from former England 7’s rugby captain, Rob Vickerman, who gave them lots of advice and tips on improving their game.

The rugby star taught students about ball handling, evasive techniques and tackling, as well as the importance of hard work, resilience and perseverance in order to succeed.

Simon Chester, Head of PE, said: “The students had a fantastic day. They were all so inspired by what they learnt.”
