Join us for our Open Mornings

Thomas Middlecott Academy is delighted to welcome you to our Open Mornings taking place on 14th, 17th & 20th October.

As a DRET academy our aim is to broaden the horizons of each and every one of our students. Nurturing academic potential, while developing interests and talents is at the centre of everything we do.

With the support of the Trust, we are currently installing a brand new dining area and have just completed new study and social spaces, transforming the learning environment for our students.

The atmosphere at the academy is friendly and welcoming and the students really enjoy studying here. This is supported by an academy- wide house system that creates strong bonds throughout the school.

We offer wide-ranging enrichment opportunities and in the last year alone, our students have had the chance to visit top universities and businesses as well as taking part in Outward Bound expeditions, music competitions and debating tournaments.

Wherever students’ talents lie, we encourage them to aim high and we do everything we can to support them. This includes exclusive scholarships and bursaries so that they can pursue their creative and sporting talents.

Sports stars regularly run masterclasses for our students. They can also access national competitions, sports tours in Europe and funded trips to major tournaments. This year this included meeting James Cracknell, Austin Healey, Beth Tweddle and Colin Jackson amongst others, and visiting Team GB at their kitting out event ahead of the Olympics in Rio.

We are proud to be at the heart of our local community, and regularly work with primary schools in the local area, running programmes throughout the year to ease the transition to secondary school.
