Half term revision sessions motivate our students
GCSE students at Thomas Middlecott Academy participated in a number of intensive revision workshops over half term.
The week began with a maths workshop for Year 11’s, led by a highly motivating group of outstanding mathematicians.
Ben and Steve, two nationally renowned experts from the group PET-Xi, delivered the session to students. Well known for their results based interventions, PET-Xi use their extensive knowledge to help young people fulfil their academic potential.
The workshop covered different areas within the subject, such as angles and ratios, to help students build their confidence and understanding.
A student who took part in the session, said: “I've started to remember angles and ratios, I used to struggle with these but these workshops have really helped."
Another student said: “The session was very productive and it helped me to improve on my maths. The teachers were very helpful and entertaining.”
GCSE English Literature students at the academy also took part in a number of high-impact sessions focusing on texts including An Inspector Calls and Dr Jekyll and Hyde.
The workshops have allowed students to focus on raising attainment in preparation for their GCSE mock examinations.
Jonathan Harris, Associate Principal at Thomas Middlecott Academy, commented: “I am delighted at the commitment and focus our students have shown during the half term sessions.
“Well done to all of our hardworking students and staff for all your dedication and commitment.”
